Irene's Story

Irene has been given the amazing opportunity to study at the Akilah Institute for women. She will be able to gain skills and a qualification, but also be given leadership training, community service opportunities and post-study support to develop her career.

As a child, Irene grew up with her father and 3 siblings, her mother died when she was only little. Her father struggled to support all four children through education and cope with the death of their mother. Helping Irene to complete these studies also helps her family!

She will not be able to take up this amazing opportunity without a sponsor. This is a great opportunity to partner and work together to really make a difference in someone’s life - a difference not only for them, but also for their family.

The cost of sponsorship is $1,500 for the first year of tuition fees, or $125 a month. There is also the option to divide the sponsorship between two - each paying $60 per month. If you wish to provide one sponsorship, we will seek a second sponsor. The course is two years, but we are currently seeking sponsors to embark on the first year - it is a one-year commitment.
